Overview

Intuit is seeking a seasoned Group Engineering Manager for QuickBooks Online product to lead our Accounting Capability team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of leadership experience, with knowledge of building highly scalable systems dealing with terabytes of data, with expertise in AI models for categorization/entity resolution and solid experience in systems architecture. We are also looking for a proven track record of building customer-facing end products that exceed expectations and the ability to ramp up quickly on accounting domain knowledge. Core Transformation:

Your primary mission will be to revolutionize the accounting landscape by creating a virtual accounting assistant. This assistant will not only automate 80% of the tasks required to maintain business financial records, thereby eliminating the drudgery of accounting, but also guide users through the intricacies of accounting rules. This ensures that they remain compliant and up-to-date with their financial records. As a result, our customers will be empowered to make informed decisions based on clean, current, and accurate data readily available at their fingertips. The accounting platform needs to scale seamlessly from supporting solopreneurs, to small and medium sized businesses and scale to mid market enterprise markets seamlessly.

Join us in our mission to revolutionize the accounting landscape and provide our customers with an intuitive, automated, and delightful experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of 50+ full-stack engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment with line level managers reporting to you.

  • Serving a diverse range of customer personas, from individual solopreneurs to small business owners, to expert accountants and financial managers in mid-market sized businesses.

  • Disrupting the accounting landscape through AI-driven automation, from data entry to classification to reconciliation and maintaining precise ledger records.

  • Developing systems to automatically identify duplicates or related transactions across multiple data feeds, from banks to third-party apps to manually entered data.

  • Collaborating with data scientists to ensure high accuracy in transaction categorization from the outset, and building a robust personalized model for each customer through continuous feedback and learning.

  • Transforming the periodic bank reconciliation process into an automated, error-free experience, with discrepancies quickly highlighted and suggestions for fixes provided.

  • Guiding users through AI-based workflows in a chat-like interface for complex transactions and scenarios, instilling confidence in QuickBooks Online as their trusted advisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience in a technology-driven environment.

  • Expertise in AI/ML technologies and their application in product development.

  • Expertise of building large scale distributed systems with data pipelines

  • Solid understanding of Backend technologies like Java, Kotlin, Scala, Python and Frontend technologies like React

  • Proven experience in building customer-facing end products.

  • Optional: Understanding of accounting principles and financial management.

  • Excellent communication and team management skills.

  • Ability to work with diverse customer personas and meet their unique needs.
