Job Title: Contract Administrator
Job Description
The Contract Administrator provides analysis, negotiation, and administration of transmission area contracts, ensuring accurate documentation, effective contract performance tracking, and strong support for utility construction and transmission projects. This role works closely with a small, growing transmission design team to manage contract compliance, support pre- and post-construction activities, and continuously improve internal business processes.
Responsibilities

Provide analysis, negotiation, and administration of transmission area contracts.

Manage and resolve contract compliance issues, including monitoring and tracking performance against contractual obligations.

Maintain complete and accurate contract files and documentation, including confidential information used for regulatory hearings and litigation.

Perform accounting settlement functions for material and service-related agreement invoices.
-
Analyze contract-related issues and provide clear, data-driven recommendations.
-
Support pre-construction and post-construction activities related to transmission and utility construction projects.

Facilitate the negotiation of simple contract amendments, including date changes and minor scope changes.

Circulate and track template agreements through the execution process.

Support the negotiation of transmission agreements in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Continually evaluate current business processes and identify opportunities to improve internal operations.

Respond promptly and accurately to data requests submitted by internal customers.

Ensure all required approvals and appropriate documentation are obtained, recorded, and maintained.

Enter contract metadata and contract documents into the designated system of record with a high level of accuracy.

Ensure all compliance aspects of the position are understood and followed, and adhere to all applicable policies, codes, and regulations.

Perform related duties as assigned to support the broader goals of the transmission design and operations teams.

Demonstrated skills and knowledge of the energy industry or contract administration practices.

Proven experience in contract administration and contract management.

Demonstrated negotiation skills, including negotiating contracts, contract amendments, and transmission agreements.

Experience managing contract compliance and resolving contract-related issues.

Strong analytical skills for reviewing contract terms, performance data, and accounting settlements.

Experience with accounting settlement processes for material and service-related agreement invoices.

Demonstrated project leadership skills in a contract or operations environment.

Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for working with internal stakeholders and documenting agreements.

High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.

Strong customer service orientation when responding to internal customer requests.

Effective organizational skills for maintaining contract files, documentation, and metadata.

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple contracts and requests simultaneously.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with utility construction or construction administration is highly beneficial.

Experience in the energy or utilities sector is an advantage.

Work Environment
This role is based in an office environment within a dedicated operations and analysis area that includes offices, cubicles, and a small kitchen space. The position supports a small transmission design team of approximately five people in a division that is growing and building its own legacy. The team culture emphasizes collaboration, open communication, and working together to achieve shared goals. Work is primarily performed on standard office equipment and computer systems, with a focus on contract documentation, data entry, analysis, and coordination with internal stakeholders. The environment supports both independent work and close teamwork, offering a professional yet friendly atmosphere where individuals contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reno, NV.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
