Summary

About the Position: Position is a first-line supervisor responsible for implementing Department of Defense (DOD) and Military Entrance Processing Command (MEPCOM) policies and procedures for administering DOD Military Personnel Testing Program. Independently plans and carries out assignments within the scope of applicable regulations, Command Headquarters guidance, Sector guidance, and Military Entrance Processing Station Commander policies. This is a permanent position.

Duties

  • Distribute workload among employees to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned task.
  • Utilize established performance standards to evaluate work of subordinate employees.
  • Provide managerial oversight of testing sites to ensure the proper administration of enlistment testing.
  • Develop testing schedules that provide optimal access for customers at established testing sites.
  • Utilize established procedures to safeguard and account for testing material
  • Review testing practices to develop standard operating procedures and other applicable directives.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled including: Providing oversight of administrative programs and/or staff; Using standardized testing practices to administer a variety of tests; exercising quality control of documents to sustain pertinent information (i.e., testing documents); Maintaining control of testing environment by ensuring proper test score reporting and result distribution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07) OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must provide a copy of your transcripts in your application package). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must provide a copy of your transcripts in your application package). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Customer Service Decisiveness Flexibility Interpersonal Skills Problem Solving Resilience Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). If you are a current Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement. In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. In order to qualify for this position, based on your education, education substitution, or combination of education and experience, you must have either completed the education requirement, or will complete this requirement within thirty (30) days from the closing date of this announcement. You must provide appropriate documentation to reflect when you will meet the education requirement.
