About the role About Artie Artie is a fully-managed real-time data streaming platform that replicates production databases into data warehouses and lakes - in real time, with zero maintenance. We make high-volume data replication simple, reliable, and scalable for engineering teams. Our platform powers mission-critical use cases including fraud and risk monitoring, inventory visibility, customer-facing analytics, and AI/ML workloads. We’re trusted by teams like Substack, Alloy, and ClickUp, and raised a Series A from top-tier investors including Standard Capital, Y Combinator, General Catalyst, Pathlight, and the founders of Dropbox and Mode. Artie is built for engineers who care about performance, reliability, and operational simplicity - and we’re growing fast. ABOUT THE ROLE We're hiring our first Solutions Engineer to help scale Artie's pre-sales and post-sales enterprise motion. This is not a demo-delivery role. You'll go deep with customers on their data architectures, run tight proof-of-value engagements, and be the technical backbone of every enterprise deal. You'll work directly with founders, shape how we position Artie technically, and set the bar for how we win. WHAT YOU'LL DO Own the technical win
- Run structured proof-of-value engagements with clear technical success criteria and mutual action plans
- Partner with AEs to drive deals forward — from technical discovery through close
- Be the trusted technical voice in the room with staff engineers, data architects, and platform leads
Go deep on customer architectures
- Understand how customers move data today — their databases, pipelines, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, and pain points
- Map those architectures to Artie's capabilities with clarity and confidence (CDC, Kafka, cloud data warehouses, replication patterns)
- Whiteboard solutions and guide customers through integration design
Deliver compelling technical presentations
- Translate complex technical concepts — log-based CDC, schema evolution, real-time replication — into business impact
- Present to mixed audiences: engineers who want to see under the hood and executives who care about TCO and reliability
Be a product and GTM force multiplier
- Surface field insights to Product and Engineering to sharpen our roadmap
- Solve many of the manual workflows with AI, constant thought about increasing productivity.
- Work closely with Engineering post-sale to ensure seamless customer handoffs and support
- Help define what great looks like for SE at Artie
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineer or Sales Engineer in enterprise or similarly complex environments
- Deep familiarity with at least one RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2) — you've done basic troubleshooting, understand logging/archiving, and aren't afraid of a query plan
- Working knowledge of at least one cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, Iceberg, Databricks, Redshift)
- Comfortable in the data stack — you know where tools like Kafka, dbt, and BI platforms fit and why customers use them
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and enough networking knowledge to hold your own in a technical solutioning conversation
- Strong communicator — you can adjust depth and frame for a data engineer and a VP of Engineering in the same meeting
- Structured and rigorous — you run POCs like a project, not a hope
- Low ego, high curiosity — you'd rather understand the customer's real problem than pitch a canned demo
TECH STACK YOU'LL WORK WITH AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Kafka, DataDog, RDBMSs (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Base $125k - $140k
- OTE: $175k - $200k
- Competitive equity package
- Healthcare, 401(k), unlimited PTO
- Lunch & dinner provided
- Visa sponsorship available
About Artie We are building Artie, a real-time data streaming solution focused on databases and data warehouses. Typical ETL solutions leverage batched processes or schedulers (DAGs, Airflow), which cannot achieve real time data syncs. We leverage change data capture (CDC) and stream processing to perform data transfers in a more efficient way, which enables sub-minute latency.
