Operations Research Analyst

Develop mathematical and statistical models to assist a mortgage brokerage firm in optimizing its lending operations and portfolio management, including underwriting workflows, loan origination, application processing, portfolio performance monitoring, and coordination among branches. Analyze large datasets related to loan applications, approval rates, borrower credit profiles, default risks, and loan servicing performance. Apply optimization techniques, simulation models, and predictive analytics to support strategic decisions in credit risk management, operational efficiency, and decision-making processes, including loan allocation across branches, staffing efficiency, and loan servicing workflows. Design algorithms to enhance loan approval workflows, reduce manual intervention, and minimize operational risk. Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate the impact of macroeconomic conditions, such as interest rate fluctuations and housing market trends, on loan portfolio performance. Use programming and data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, or Tableau, as well as optimization software (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX) when applicable, to manipulate large, complex datasets, build analytical models, and support strategic decisions. Work closely with risk management, operations, compliance, and regional lending teams to translate analytical findings into actionable lending policies and workflow changes. Prepare and present technical reports and dashboards summarizing model results, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Minimum Requirements: At least a Masters degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field with 2 years experience in an occupation involving quantitative analysis, operational modeling, or financial data analysis.
