Vesta Mine Services is seeking dependable, productive, and safety-focused experienced underground coal miners, commonly referred to as Black Hats, for full-time work at multiple mine locations. Current work locations may include: 1. Bailey- Crabapple 2. Bailey- Dry Ridge 3. Bailey- Aleppo 4. Enlow Fork- Archer 5. Enlow Fork- Oak Springs 6. Cumberland Overall Job Purpose Assist with the safe and productive extraction of coal from below the earth's surface by performing one or more underground coal mining assignments. Job duties may include: 1. Roof bolting 2. Booster operation 3. Belt moves 4. Belt shoveling 5. Dewatering 6. Overcast construction 7. Spraying 8. Steel-set installation 9. Track work 10. Material handling 11. General underground labor 12. Other duties based on experience and operational needs Qualifications Applicants must: 1. Be recognized as an experienced underground coal miner or Black Hat. 2. Hold current PA or WV underground mining certifications or papers applicable to the assigned work location. 3. Have previous underground coal mining experience. 4. Understand underground mine safety procedures and workplace hazards. 5. Be able to safely perform assigned duties with limited supervision. 6. Be willing to work at multiple mine locations based on company and customer needs. Essential Job Requirements Successful candidates must be able to: 1. Report to scheduled shifts on time and communicate work absences promptly. 2. Work 8- to 12-hour shifts. 3. Work overtime, weekends, and six- or seven-day workweeks when required. 4. Adjust to different shifts, job duties, crews, and mine locations. 5. Remain alert, focused, and safety-conscious in an underground mining environment. 6. Follow all company, mine-site, state, federal, and MSHA safety requirements. 7. Demonstrate sound judgment, precision, steadiness, problem-solving skills, and quick reaction abilities. 8. Work safely and productively as part of a crew. 9. Respect different personalities and viewpoints in the workplace. 10. Accept constructive feedback from supervisors and respond appropriately. 11. Perform physically demanding work in an underground environment. 12. Maintain reliable transportation to and from assigned mine locations. 13. Comply with Vesta Mine Services' drug and alcohol policies. Additional Requirements 1. Background checks and drug testing are required. 2. Reliable transportation is required. 3. This is a full-time, on-site position. 4. This position cannot be performed remotely. 5. Work location and assignment may change based on operational needs.
