KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Engineer, ADL Platform Administrator to join our Digital Nexus technology organization.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive administration and operational support for the Azure Data Lake platform, specifically managing Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Oversee user provisioning, group administration, tokens, secrets, and Key Vault security and access controls
Manage the health, performance, and permission structures of Databricks clusters and SQL endpoints to ensure optimal system efficiency
Configure and maintain storage solutions, linked services, and application integrations while adhering to strict security standards
Leverage strong Python, SQL and PowerShell scripting capabilities to automate administrative tasks, monitor platform health, and streamline operations
Drive and support the deployment of code, patches, and upgrades to the production environment while ensuring strict change control compliance
Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
Minimum three years of recent experience of platform administration experience focusing on Azure Databricks which includes Unity catalog, Lakebase Postgres, Databricks Apps and Genie Agent; Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required; or five years of equivalent working experience
Extensive experience configuring Databricks networking, Unity Catalog, security policies (NCC, egress, compute controls), and integrating enterprise tools like Salesforce, Informatica, Oracle, and SAP HANA
Strong understanding of Azure Key Vault, storage accounts (ACLs, roles), service principals, system/user-assigned managed identities, and secure access control practices
Highly proficient in Python, PowerShell, PySpark, SQL, and KQL for platform automation, system log analysis (Log Analytics), privilege management, and ADF linked service configuration
Proven ability to manage CI/CD concepts (Azure DevOps, managed code deployments) and troubleshoot complex pipeline integrations across ADF, Databricks, and SQL databases
