Job Description

  • Design, program, and develop PLC and SCADA applications for pharmaceutical manufacturing and processing equipment.
  • Create functional specifications, sequences of operation, test protocols, user manuals, and automation documentation.
  • Configure and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, databases, computers, and control hardware.
  • Specify and purchase controls hardware and instrumentation.
  • Review automation designs, P&IDs, wiring drawings, panel layouts, and control schematics.
  • Execute software testing, simulations, commissioning, startup, and validation activities.
  • Work directly with project teams, manufacturing groups, customers, and field service personnel to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide customer training, technical support, troubleshooting, warranty support, and field service assistance.
  • Travel to customer sites for commissioning, startup support, training, and service activities.

Skills and Requirements

  • 3-5 years of hands-on Automation Engineering experience.
  • Recent experience developing Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC applications from scratch using RSLogix or Studio 5000.
  • Experience developing SCADA applications using Wonderware, iFIX, Ignition, or similar platforms.
  • Strong PLC programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and controls experience.
  • Experience with analog data handling, data exchange between systems, and instrumentation integration.
  • Ability to read and review P&IDs, control system schematics, functional specifications, wiring diagrams, and panel drawings.
  • Experience specifying, configuring, and troubleshooting control system hardware and instrumentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Pharmaceutical, life sciences, or GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • FactoryTalk View, PanelView, Siemens TIA Portal, or Step 7.
  • SQL databases and reporting tools.
  • Validation and commissioning experience.
