Job Details:

The Senior Patient Service Representative provides on-site lead for daily operations for the medical secretary. Serves as a liaison between Practitioners and patients to coordinate successful delivery of care and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients in the checking in/checking out process and completing necessary paperwork.

  • Collect appropriate office co-pays at the time of the visit.

  • Educate patients in post care instructions and their healthcare coverage responsibilities.

  • Scan medical insurance and obtained authorizations from insurance carriers.

  • Obtain insurance referrals as needed.

  • Scan lab reports, consultations, office notes and any messages into the appropriate chart.

  • Forward records to Bon Secour Charity Health or other parties as directed.

  • Assist physicians in obtaining patients results from other facilities, and schedule appointments with other facilities if needed.

  • Handles all questions regarding the office and office procedures.

  • Review correspondence, memorandum and routine reports and communicate with the office manager.

  • Oversee the daily schedule of the physicians.

  • Understand and help assure compliance with HIPPA.

  • Travel to other locations may be required as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year of customer service and/or medical office experience preferred. Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Licenses / Certifications.

Travel to other locations may be required as needed.
