Full job description

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Test Engineers to support the rapid growth of our satellite defense programs. This role will focus on system-level integration, verification, and testing of spacecraft and associated ground support equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience testing satellites beyond the component or box level, with a strong understanding of how spacecraft subsystems interact within the full vehicle architecture.

This position requires engineers who can troubleshoot complex system issues, develop and execute automated test procedures, support spacecraft integration activities, and help improve test architecture and automation capabilities. Candidates should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment where multiple shifts may be required to support spacecraft test campaigns.

While satellite-level test experience is highly preferred, candidates with strong subsystem integration and test experience within spacecraft programs will also be considered.

This is a 6-month contract to hire. The hourly rate is $50-80/hr.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field. 6+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, satellite, spacecraft, or complex systems testing environments. Experience performing subsystem or system-level integration and test activities. Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills in complex hardware/software environments. Experience developing test automation scripts using Python or another object-oriented programming language. Experience creating, modifying, and maintaining automated test scripts from the ground up. Experience working with Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Understanding of system integration principles and verification methodologies. Familiarity with command and data handling architectures and spacecraft communications interfaces. Ability to support multiple shifts and occasional weekend testing activities. Active Secret Clearance eligible with ability to obtain or maintain higher-level clearance. Experience supporting satellite, spacecraft, defense, or aerospace programs. Knowledge of RF communication systems, telemetry, command and control systems, and data links. Experience with EMC/EMI testing and certification requirements. Familiarity with environmental qualification testing including vibration, thermal vacuum, and shock testing. Programming or scripting experience with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar tools for test automation and data analysis. Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) development and execution. Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) concepts. Experience working in regulated aerospace, defense, or space environments. Knowledge of antenna testing, RF calibration techniques, and link performance analysis. Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance. Experience supporting hardware through design, integration, verification, qualification, and launch readiness reviews. Working knowledge of configuration management, requirements traceability, and systems engineering processes.

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances.
