Full job description
Description We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to support accounting operations and financial oversight for a Long-term Contract position based in Centennial, Colorado. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, guiding close activities, and strengthening reporting across a multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in construction accounting, thrives in a hands-on setting, and can partner effectively with senior finance leadership and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:

Direct monthly and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial results.

Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation across multiple entities.

Prepare internal and external financial reports, including consolidated statements and analysis for leadership review.

Oversee intercompany accounting processes, resolve balance discrepancies, and manage elimination entries during consolidation.

Support financial statement audits by organizing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and coordinating required documentation.

Apply construction accounting knowledge to monitor project-related financial activity and ensure proper treatment of costs and revenue.

Use Viewpoint Vista and Microsoft Excel to analyze data, improve reporting accuracy, and streamline accounting workflows.

Partner with the Controller and senior finance team on special projects, including process enhancements and accounting-related operational changes. Requirements • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including work in an Assistant Controller, Controller, or senior accounting capacity.

Strong command of month-end close, general ledger management, and financial reporting processes.

Experience with financial statement audits and the preparation of supporting schedules and reconciliations.

Demonstrated expertise in intercompany accounting, eliminations, and multi-entity consolidations.

Background in construction accounting with a solid understanding of industry-specific financial practices.

Proficiency with Viewpoint Vista and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and communicate effectively with finance and operational teams.
