Performs therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures and provides assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. Job Description: EDUCATION: Other: Graduate of a two-year respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) (may be evidenced by RCP/RRT/CRT license)
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: CA Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Certification through National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 2 years of recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, chemistry, and physics.

Knowledge of bedside pulmonary function testing; mechanics and equipment.

Knowledge of arterial puncture and blood gas analysis, equipment and quality control.

Demonstrated familiarity with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards and College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation standards. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations.

Must be able to understand, read and write the English language.

Pay Range is $55.83 to $68.07 / hour The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
