Figure Skating Instructor - McFetridge Sports Center

POSITION: Figure Skating Instructor – McFetridge Sports Center REPORTS TO: Figure Skating Coordinator

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Figure Skating Instructor at McFetridge Sports Center. The instructor is responsible for teaching all levels of figure skating classes at McFetridge Sports Center. Hours of work are typically 4-6 hours per week, but could vary depending on special events or performance needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES Include the following - other duties may be assigned:

• Teach skaters of all ages and skill levels in our ISI Learn to Skate Program and assist with program events, including the spring ice show and annual rink competition.

• Evaluate skaters at the end of each session to determine skill level and/or advancement

• Communicate pertinent information to the skaters and parents on a regular basis.

• Assist with skating program related duties or activities as assigned by the Figure Skating Coordinator.

SKILLS REQUIRED Position requires ability to:

• Teach ice skating and related skills to all levels and ages, ranging from 4 years old to adult.

• Integrate into the overall team concept and maintain effective working relationships with other instructors, parents and the Figure Skating Coordinator.

• Communicate effectively with others and have excellent customer service skills.

• Be punctual, reliable, organized and responsible.

• Remain flexible, adjusting to situations as they occur and model appropriate behavior at all times.

• Ensure that safety measures and regulations are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS Applicant must have skated or competed in the ISI Freestyle 5 level or above or the USFS equivalent. A minimum of one year of Learn to Skate teaching experience required; experience teaching USFS Skating Skills and/or Ice Dance also preferred. Will be required to purchase the ISI Professional Membership and do ISI Judging Certifications. Applicant would have to be available Saturdays and possibly weekday evenings.

Hours: This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Able to work specifically on Sundays.

HOURLY RATE: $19.00
