Job Summary:

This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 25-hours per week), short-term Event Production & Technology Coordinator position for Marketing Services and Solutions at Oregon State University (OSU). This position is expected to last approximately 11 months.

Reporting to the Operations and Technology Manager, this position provides secondary leadership for audiovisual and facility operations at The LaSells Stewart Center. Responsibilities include supporting event production through operation of sound, lighting, and presentation systems; serving as a client-facing technical resource during events; coordinating facility, room, and equipment needs; troubleshooting technical issues; supporting event setup and breakdown; maintaining facility readiness and safety standards; and providing leadership, training, and supervision to student staff. The position also contributes to operational documentation, continuous improvement initiatives, and evening, weekend, and holiday event support as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support audiovisual operations, including live audio, lighting, and presentation systems

  • Serve as lead technical resource and client contact during events

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational issues

  • Provide guidance, training, and oversight to student employees

  • Document procedures and contribute to continuous operational improvement

  • Provide evening, weekend, and occasional holiday support for events and facility operations

  • Support facility readiness, safety compliance, and customer service standards

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills of equipment and systems that would normally be obtained through an associate of arts degree in electronics or industrial technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or directly related experience.

  • Advanced AV and live production experience

  • Experience with audio mixing and lighting systems

  • Problem solving and communication skills

  • Valid drivers’ license

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (completed or imminent)

  • 1-3 years relevant experience including advanced AV and live production

  • Experience in large venues (500+ seats)

  • Familiarity with digital audio consoles, lighting controls, and Zoom

  • Experience working with clients and performers

  • Backstage/stage management experience

  • Demonstrated leadership potential
