Position Overview

Shaw Industries is searching for Process Controls Engineer to support and assist in the development and oversight of locally deployed process control solutions as part of broader process engineering responsibilities. The engineer will contribute to automation initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities through process awareness, data analysis, and collaboration with automation teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Support process control projects, with focus on Ignition SCADA, PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and HMI integration.

  • Design and implement capital and continuous improvement projects, including electrical power and mechanical systems.

  • Serve as the bridge between manufacturing operations and process control technologies, leveraging data to identify process improvements.

  • Own and maintain documentation: drawings, source code, procedures, spare parts, and lifecycle management of control systems.

  • Partner with Shaw Automation Engineers and CIM teams to expand local capability and ensure compliance with corporate standards.

  • Mentor plant personnel and provide engineering support to maintenance and operations teams.

  • Actively contribute to energy-saving initiatives and plant utility improvements.

  • Serve as a resource to plant safety, reliability, and maintenance leaders.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience with design, installation, and troubleshooting of:

  • PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)

  • HMI/SCADA (preferably Ignition)

  • PC hardware/software in industrial environments

  • OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years hands-on controls/automation experience

Preferred:

  • CMMS, Six Sigma, or lean manufacturing exposure

  • Strong understanding of preventive/predictive maintenance

  • Prior manufacturing experience and project leadership

  • Experience supporting reliability-centered improvement initiatives

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
