Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Inpatient Services, Mental Health Department in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Work hours: 0645-1915 and 1845-0715. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • Initiate, locate, annotate, update, and file patient mental health records.
  • Review all medical records documents to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Assist clinical professional staff with providing direct and indirect care to psychiatric inpatients.
  • Assist clinical professional staff with conducting and documenting basic patient assessments such as interviewing patient for psychosocial history.
  • Under the supervision of a credentialed mental health provider, assist with crisis intervention, group therapy, and offer case management services.
  • Apply appropriate mental health policies and procedures related to patient's privacy.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting clinical staff with maintaining a safe therapeutic environment for patients; observing and documenting patient behaviors; assisting with therapeutic interventions; and maintaining patient medical records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
