Duties

If selected for this position, you will serve as a Administrative Service Specialist for the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Nebraska. Typical work duties include the following: Assisting the district's Administrative Officer and the Budget Officer with a variety of contracting and procurement activities. Serving as the district's purchasing agent for supplies, equipment and other services. Reviewing purchase requests for accuracy, completeness and compliance with policies and regulations. Ensuring obligations, expenditures, unobligated orders and available balances are properly maintained, supported and documented. Preparing status reports and providing advice to management on potential shortfalls, surpluses, and/or reprogramming needs. Coordinating facility maintenance and/or repair activities within the USAO workspace. Assisting with special projects to include coordinating meetings, events, press conferences, etc. Qualifications

GS-11: To be qualified for the GS-11 position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in federal service or Education or a Combination of Education and Experience. Specialized Experience: includes preparing a variety of reports concerning the status of funds, expenses and/or obligations; procuring office equipment, supplies, and/or furniture; reviewing purchase requests; and projecting and analyzing space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes, and technology improvements. OR Education: One of the following types of education a Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related. Education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years. Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP)-The CTAP provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your Department of Justice component has notified you in writing that you are a surplus or displaced employee eligible for CTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your CTAP eligibility, 2) you apply under the instructions in this announcement, and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.
