Your role and responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer with a functional focus, you specialize in designing and executing testing for applications and systems built using custom technologies. Your expertise spans across all levels of testing, including functional, system integration, and end-to-end testing.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Design Test Scenarios: Create optimized test scenarios, plan testing activities, estimate work efforts, and identify test environment and data requirements, utilizing deep skills in core testing, technical testing, and business domain/processes.

  • Execute Testing: Perform manual and automation testing, execute test cases, report test status, and address defects through creation, triage, and resolution, leveraging various testing tools, BDD/TDD approaches, and test accelerators.

  • Analyze Test Outcomes: Apply analytical and cognitive techniques to drive continuous improvements, analyzing test outcomes to inform future testing strategies and optimize test efficiency and quality.

  • Lead Testing Activities: Oversee testing activities, ensuring effective test planning, execution, and defect resolution, and guiding junior team members in testing best practices.

  • Optimize Test Efficiency: Develop strategies to enhance test efficiency and quality, identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes to optimize testing outcomes.

This role can be performed from anywhere in the United States of America.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Core Testing Expertise: Experience with designing and executing testing for applications and systems built using custom technologies, with expertise spanning across all levels of testing, including functional, system integration, and end-to-end testing.

  • Technical Testing Skills: Experience in utilizing various testing tools, BDD/TDD approaches, and test accelerators to enhance test efficiency and quality, with proficiency in manual and automation testing.

  • Business Domain Knowledge: Experience working with business domain/processes, enabling the creation of optimized test scenarios, planning testing activities, estimating work efforts, and identifying test environment and data requirements.

  • Test Analysis and Improvement: Experience with analyzing test outcomes using analytical and cognitive techniques to drive continuous improvements, informing future testing strategies and optimizing test efficiency and quality.

  • Test Leadership: Experience in leading testing activities, overseeing effective test planning, execution, and defect resolution, and guiding junior team members in testing best practices.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Advanced Testing Methodologies: Experience with BDD/TDD approaches and test accelerators to enhance test efficiency and quality, with the ability to leverage these methodologies to optimize testing outcomes.

  • Multi-Level Testing Expertise: Experience in designing and executing testing across all levels, including functional, system integration, and end-to-end testing, with the ability to create optimized test scenarios and plans.

  • Analytical Techniques: Experience with analytical and cognitive techniques to drive continuous improvements, with the ability to analyze test outcomes and inform future testing strategies.
