Join BAE Systems Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) business area where we provide next-generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions to provide unparalleled electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability. Our team leverages industry leading EO/IR and RF technologies to advance multi-platform detection, tracking, and defeat of incoming threats to support aircraft, ground vehicle, and maritime survivability. We continue to build on more than 40 years of experience fielding EO/IR survivability solutions in complex rotary and fixed-wing aircraft and ground vehicle environments. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineering Lead to join our team.

Typical duties assigned to this position:

  • Lead a software team through Agile software engineering design and development

  • Employ your expertise, decision making skills, and independent judgment in technical areas

  • Lead Design Review activities including generating presentation materials,

  • Communicate essential information and coordinate with engineering disciplines and functions

  • Support the development of program schedules, earned value criteria, and productivity metrics for efficient performance as needed

  • Influence and contribute to Software Design and Architectural Decisions

  • Ensure the established software development process is implemented successfully

  • Support important program capture and proposal teams with software baselines that include development and cost/scheduling estimation

  • Develop and present material to customers and interface with external stakeholders

  • Work with Discipline Section Leads to determine program staffing needs and right person/right job

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 10 years of professional experience and a bachelor s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field

  • DoD Secret Clearance

  • Demonstrated ability to guide individuals through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally

  • Experience with the full life-cycle of software development including performing software testing, validation, and verification activities

  • Experience with software engineering processes, methodologies, and tools

  • Experience with proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost and schedule estimation, and presentation activities

  • Experience with Agile SW development methodologies

  • Prior experience in technical/project team leadership

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field

  • Background in one or more of the following:

  • Embedded and/or application software development in one or more: C , Python, Ada

  • Experience with Machine Learning and/or Algorithm development and optimization in C , CUDA, or Open CL

  • Developing Test Automation Software, Common frameworks, and software tests typically in Python

  • Developing Test Support Software for test stands and workstations including Graphical User Interface

  • Previous experience with SW applications to Electro-Optical/Infrared technologies

  • Experience with Model Based Engineering

  • Experience with GRA, Big Iron, or OMS Architectures

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
