Salary Range: $26.00 To $39.00 Annually
Position Summary
This role serves as a technical expert and reliability leader responsible for advanced troubleshooting, predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, equipment reliability improvement, and mentoring maintenance team members. The Maintenance Technician I independently diagnoses and resolves complex equipment issues while supporting plant safety, productivity, and continuous improvement objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system failures.

Lead equipment recovery efforts during critical breakdowns and production interruptions.

Perform advanced troubleshooting using electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and diagnostic equipment.

Execute predictive maintenance activities, including vibration analysis, motor testing, alignment, balancing, and condition monitoring.

Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurring equipment failures.

Support capital projects, equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities.

Mentor and train Maintenance Technician II and Maintenance Technician III.

Identify and implement reliability improvements that reduce downtime and maintenance costs.

Complete and document maintenance activities within the CMMS.

Ensure compliance with all safety, GMP, food safety, and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
Required Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or GED required.
-
Technical degree, apprenticeship, military maintenance training, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience preferred.

Minimum 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

Demonstrated multi-craft proficiency in mechanical and electrical maintenance.

Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Proficiency using CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.

Ability to lead technical projects and mentor maintenance personnel.
Performance Expectations
The Maintenance Technician I must demonstrate the ability to:

Independently troubleshoot and repair all plant equipment.

Lead major breakdown recovery activities.

Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.

Improve equipment uptime and reliability metrics.

Develop and mentor other maintenance technicians.

Support maintenance planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
