Job Description: Federal Work Study – Financial Aid Assistant Campus: Americus Job Responsibilities The Financial Aid Office is seeking a Federal Work Study student to provide clerical and administrative support for daily office operations. Responsibilities include:

  • Typing, filing, copying, scanning, and other general clerical duties.
  • Answering and directing phone calls.
  • Assisting Financial Aid staff with administrative tasks.
  • Providing professional and courteous customer service to students and visitors.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of student and financial aid information.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours for the applicable semester.
  • Must be approved for Federal Student Aid for the applicable award year.
  • Must be eligible to participate in the Federal Work Study (FWS) program.
  • Must be making satisfactory academic progress.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check and/or credit check, if applicable.
  • Must complete all required State of Georgia employment paperwork through the Human Resources Office before beginning work.
  • Students may not begin working until all required hiring and employment paperwork has been completed and approved.

Background Requirements Candidates must successfully pass a criminal background check. Compensation $10.00 per hour Hours The student may work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week, based on Federal Work Study eligibility and available funding. Work schedules will be flexible to accommodate the student's class schedule. Students may work no more than 225 hours per semester. Reports To Financial Aid Director Application Deadline Until filled.
