TS/ SCI Install Technician

Job Description

Day to day: A client of Insight Global is looking to hire AV install technicians local to support a project at MacDill AFB. This technician will be responsible for executing complex installation tasks, and ensuring all project work meets standards related to quality, safety, budget, scope, and timeline. This person will perform hands‑on work including (but not limited to): cable pulls, cable terminations, equipment installation, rack fabrication, metal fabrication, and full system build‑outs.

Responsibilities include:

• Execute installation tasks: cable pulls, terminations, equipment mounting, rack fabrication, and wiring.
• Interpret and implement engineered drawings, plans, and system specifications.
• Document all installation activities accurately and on time. Maintain safe working conditions and ensure all team members follow safety protocols.

Skills and Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in AV/IT installation or a related field.

• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with AV systems, structured cabling, and low‑voltage installation methods.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

• Proficiency with hand/power tools and installation equipment.

• Active TS/SCI Clearance CompTIA Security+ certification (must obtain within 30 days of hire)

• Industry certifications (OSHA, AVIXA, manufacturer trainings).

• CTS Certification Experience with DSPs, control systems, and networked AV environments.
