This position is for a Staff Engineering Lab Assistant who works under minimal supervision. Performs hands-on technical work on engineering products.  Confers with Engineers and lab technicians on details and specifications to build and modify a wide range of products.

What You Will Do

  • Work under minimal supervision to provide technical build support to engineers and technicians on various tasks.

  • Perform moderately complex hands-on technical tasks, such as circuit board repairs, component insertion and replacement, and inspections.

  • Build and terminate cables for a variety of circuitry types.

  • Utilize soldering techniques, including both lead and lead-free soldering, with precision and care.

  • Read and interpret engineering prints, drawings, and schematics to assist in the build and modification process.

  • Follow engineering inspection and quality processes, adhering to established quality procedures.

  • Operate hand tools, soldering stations, scopes, and other technical devices with accuracy.

  • Document changes and inspection results as required for various engineering products.

  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure specifications and requirements are met.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with reading prints, drawings, and schematics

  • Experience with soldering techniques, including lead and lead-free soldering.

  • Experience working with circuit boards, including repairs, component insertion, and inspection.

The salary range for this role is 53,100 USD - 100,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
