Overview
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Associate Research Specialist, under supervision, conducts routine laboratory research procedures. Follows protocol to perform experiments. Tabulates data and may assist with analysis. Performs routine equipment maintenance and orders supplies. May provide instruction to support personnel.
The Associate Research Specialist (ARS) will assist on a project related to understanding the genetic causes or identifying therapeutic targets in medulloblastoma or neuroblastoma in the Huang lab at CHLA. The ARS will perform wet lab techniques such as western blot, mammalian cell culture, DNA cloning, RT-qPCR, and mouse work.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Experience working in a laboratory environment required.
Preferred: 1+ years experience performing laboratory research. DNA cloning, western blot, mouse work, experience with mammalian cell culture.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a scientific field. Applicants must have completed their bachelor’s degree by their anticipated start date.
Hours : Days, Monday-Friday.
Pay Scale Information
$47,840.00-$53,872.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
