Summer Camp Archery Program Coordinator

6/21-8/27 weekdays 9:40-3:40 Primary Role: To further the mission of Garrett Williamson by developing and delivering archery activities that are safe and age appropriate. The successful Summer Camp Archery Program Coordinator will instruct campers in safety protocols and implement best practices to teach skill and discipline in archery, slingshots, tomahawk throwing and all related activities. Immediate Supervisor: Camp Director Essential Job Functions: 1. Develop and deliver an archery program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers ages 5-15 2. Write and submit lesson plans for weekly blocks which adhere to the themes to the Director at least two weeks in advance 3. Communicate and enforce safety and educational procedures at the beginning of every archery activity block to both campers and staff 4. Administer basic first aid and provide emotional support when necessary 5. Maintain active surveillance of persons in and near the archery range 6. Identify and implement appropriate safety protocols and response to hazards affecting the archery range or safety of shooters/throwers 7. Conduct daily checks of the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair, submitting order requests when necessary 8. Serve as a resource for staff who need support with conflict resolution, behavior management or input regarding games and activities 9. Maintain clear and positive written and verbal communication with camp staff, campers, parents, and all other contacts associated with Camp Garrett 10. Create and maintain positive business and working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, families, campers, and the community, promoting a collaborative and supportive environment Qualifications, Skills, and Ability: 1. Must be at least 18 years of age 2. Current certification in archery instruction, first aid, CPR, and AED preferred 3. Minimum of 1 year of experience leading archery activities preferred 4. Experience working with children and young adults 5. Desire and ability to work with children outdoors in varied conditions Other Job Duties: 1. Participate in staff meetings as directed 2. Assist in general maintenance and upkeep of Camp and shared facilities 3. All other duties as assigned Physical/Cognitive Requirements of the Essential Job Functions: This position requires the ability to lift at least 25 pounds, strong listening and observation skills, the ability to take corrective actions when necessary, and the capacity to read and comprehend instructions and manuals. Additionally, it requires the physical ability to navigate the camp property in various environmental conditions.
