Full job description

Our client, a manufacturing technology organization, is seeking a MES Support Engineer to join their team. As a MES Support Engineer, you will be part of the Manufacturing Systems Support team supporting manufacturing operations and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong shop-floor manufacturing and MES support experience, strong Microsoft SQL Server troubleshooting skills, and the ability to collaborate across ERP/WMS, infrastructure, and vendor teams to keep manufacturing execution systems running reliably.

Location: Richmond, Virginia

What's the Job?

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for MES applications and manufacturing systems, ensuring timely resolution of production support needs.

  • Monitor MES application performance and support system availability and reliability for critical manufacturing operations.

  • Investigate production support issues and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring incidents.

  • Coordinate issue resolution with Development, ERP, WMS, Infrastructure, Network, and Business teams to restore service and improve stability.

  • Analyze SQL Server databases, queries, and data to resolve data-related discrepancies and support accurate manufacturing execution.

What's Needed?

  • 6-10+ years of experience in manufacturing, shop-floor systems, digital manufacturing, or MES environments, preferably within Consumer Products/CPG manufacturing.

  • Hands-on experience supporting one or more MES platforms such as Siemens Opcenter/Camstar, Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre, Apriso PAS-X, Syncade, Ignition, AVEVA MES, SAP MII/ME, Tulip, or a comparable MES platform.

  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience, including SQL queries, stored procedures, and data analysis/troubleshooting.

  • Strong development experience using C# and .NET Framework/.NET Core, plus web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).

  • Experience troubleshooting MES integrations with ERP (SAP), WMS (Blue Yonder or similar), PLCs, OPC servers, and shop-floor equipment; plus familiarity with ticketing/incident management tools such as ServiceNow.
