Job Description

York Hospital Diagnostic Radiology - Imaging Ortho

Part Time (48 hours/pay period)

Day/Evening

8:00a-4:30p up to 11:30a-8:00p for coverage purpose; Weekend and call rotation; No holidays

General Summary

Performs routine and specialized diagnostic and technical radiographic procedures at an intermediate skill level.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic examinations; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.

  • Able to perform more complex operating room procedures as well as fluoroscopic and overhead procedures and more complex portable exams if applicable to the location of outpatient center.

  • Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.

  • Properly processes images using digital technology., Able to resolve exceptions in PACs and EHR systems and has the ability to cancel unnecessary orders upon request of providers (site specific)

  • Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.

  • Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.

  • Evaluates recorded images for technical quality. , consistently maintains a repeat rate under 5%.

  • Participates in and collaborates with other departments on projects to improve care and efficiency as needed.

  • Demonstrates leadership skills with capability of taking on a charge role if needed.

  • Participates in and collaborates with other departments on projects to improve care and efficiency as needed; participates in at least 1 project including but not limited to: equipment QA (monthly, quarterly testing), creating standards of work, engagement committee.

  • Becomes proficient in optional cross-trained skills(site specific) of EKGs and/or phlebotomy.
