Civil Litigation Paralegal

Description

A reputable San Francisco law firm is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal for a contract assignment. This role will provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys handling a variety of civil matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background and be comfortable managing multiple cases in a fast-paced law firm environment. This is a contract position with no expectation of permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support attorneys through all phases of civil litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation

• Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence

• Coordinate and manage document productions and case files

• Schedule depositions, mediations, court appearances, and expert witness consultations

• Prepare exhibits, trial binders, witness files, and other trial materials

• Perform legal research, factual investigations, and cite-checking as needed

• Maintain case calendars and track litigation deadlines

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors regarding case-related matters

Requirements

• 3+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience in a law firm environment

• Experience supporting matters through discovery and trial preparation

• Knowledge of California state and federal court filing procedures

• Proficiency with legal research tools and document management systems

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Paralegal certificate preferred but not required

• Available to work on-site in San Francisco five days per week
