Secret – Senior Backend Engineer, Event Systems

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer, Event Systems to support a mission-application modernization program that unifies access across a portfolio of production applications: one sign-on, one work surface, and a repeatable pattern for onboarding applications to a shared platform, while the existing applications continue to run and are sustained by the same team, for a Department of War (DoW) customer. Event and data engineering: -Implement feeds from existing applications using change data capture (Debezium), API polling, and gateway queries; normalize to CloudEvents. -Design and build the work-item projection in PostgreSQL: state only, schema-enforced, with hash-chained history and hand-off receipts; exactly-once recovery and truthful status during outages.

Skills and Requirements

-Minimum Interim Secret Clearance -7+ years in backend and data engineering with production CDC and Kafka-compatible brokers. -Strong PostgreSQL; event-driven integration with legacy systems. -Experience with Java, Go, or TypeScript; Kubernetes; AWS MSK.
