COMBINED TRADES SUPERVISOR II

Summary

You will serve as a Combined Trades Supervisor II in the Pipe Shop, Production Resources Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

• You will serve as a second-level supervisor, exercising full technical and operational authority over a multi-trade workforce.
• You will be the senior onsite authority responsible for planning, directing, integrating, and executing complex, multi-trade work essential to submarine and ship overhaul, repair, and modernization.
• You will have a master-level of practical knowledge of multiple trades used to direct the work of subordinate supervisors and their crews to meet critical project milestones.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Lead Or Supervise Analyzing and approving work plans developed by subordinate trade supervisors, monitoring the status of their work in relation to the overall project schedule, and adjusting for emergent requirements. Setting deadlines and establishing the critical sequence of work operations to be followed. Planning, directing, integrating, and executing complex, multi-trade structural work essential to submarine and ship overhaul, repair, and modernization. Developing and executing long-range work plans and integrated production schedules on a quarterly and project duration basis. Determining the resources, materials, equipment, and skilled personnel required to accomplish long-range project schedules. Additionally, I performed such tasks including determining sequence, priorities and deadlines of scheduled assignments; estimating material, equipment and manpower needs; developing and implementing work and safety procedures; AND executing administrative functions such as scheduling and approving leave, issuing performance appraisals, deciding conduct related matters, and supporting Equal Employment Opportunity principles and practices.
