Description

We are looking for an accomplished financial leader to oversee the accounting, tax, compliance, and operational activities of a private single-family office based in New York. This position calls for someone who can guide financial strategy across a broad mix of entities, including trusts, charitable organizations, investment structures, operating businesses, and real estate holdings. The ideal candidate will bring strong judgment, absolute discretion, and the ability to align day-to-day financial management with long-term wealth preservation and organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct financial oversight across a diverse portfolio of entities, ensuring accurate reporting, effective controls, and coordinated administration.

  • Lead tax planning initiatives designed to support wealth preservation while maintaining full compliance with applicable fiduciary, trust, estate, and corporate requirements.

  • Manage accounting operations for business interests, investment assets, philanthropic entities, and property-related holdings with a high degree of accuracy and organization.

  • Advise senior stakeholders on financial strategy, cash flow priorities, risk considerations, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

  • Oversee compliance activities, including regulatory filings, tax reporting obligations, and governance-related financial documentation.

  • Coordinate with external advisors such as auditors, legal counsel, tax professionals, and banking partners to support complex financial matters.

  • Establish and refine financial processes that strengthen reporting quality, streamline administration, and support multiple interconnected entities.

  • Supervise and mentor finance and administrative personnel while promoting accountability, confidentiality, and high standards.

Requirements • CPA designation required.

  • Significant experience in a family office, private wealth environment, or similarly complex multi-entity financial structure.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability in senior-level accounting, controllership, or finance management roles.

  • Deep knowledge of tax planning strategies and tax compliance practices across trusts, estates, and related entities.

  • Strong background in fiduciary, trust, and estate accounting principles.

  • Experience managing property management accounting and real estate-related financial activities.

  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to handle highly confidential financial information.

  • Proven ability to balance strategic financial oversight with detailed operational execution.
