UPMC Western Maryland is seeking Sonographers to join their team of life-changers!
The Sonographer performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. They competently perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Eligible positions qualify for a $6,000 Sign-on Bonus with a 2-year work commitment!

Responsibilities:

Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

Assists physicians with invasive procedures, adhering to universal protocol standards.

Interacts with patients and co-workers, displaying caring, listening, dignity, and respect.

Communicates instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to alleviate fears.

Ensures exams are properly coded, tracked, networked, and charges entered.

Identifies patients using two identifiers and reviews patient history and physician orders.

Documents patient history in electronic records as required.

May handle High-Level Disinfection of devices, supplies, and equipment.

Obtains and documents cross-sectional anatomy images, correlating measurements with data charts.

Performs technical ultrasound procedures, using appropriate instrumentation and techniques.

Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)

Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
