Full job description
Join us at NVIDIA, where we are transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and AI industries with groundbreaking technology and a strong dedication to innovation. As part of our team, you'll find an encouraging environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and excellence. We are seeking a Senior Material Planning Manager to lead the material planning team in a dynamic, quick-turn new product introduction environment. This leader will build team capability, establish clear operating rhythms, and ensure timely Clear to Build (CTB) decisions for engineering builds. The role partners closely with Engineering, Program Management, commodity managers, buyers, contract manufacturers, Logistics, Finance, and Data and IT teams to align priorities, close material gaps, and mitigate supply risk. The Senior Manager will also lead practical AI initiatives that improve decision quality, increase planner capacity, and scale the team as NPI complexity and volume grow.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Lead, coach, and develop the material planning team, establishing clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectations.
- Design scalable team structures, coverage models, and standard processes to support concurrent global NPI programs.
- Lead the team in close partnership with Engineering Build Managers (EBMs) to ensure material readiness, successful builds, and on-time product launches.
- Maintain accurate demand, build quantities, lead times, BOM changes, and priorities within SAP and MRP.
- Partner with commodity managers and contract manufacturers to resolve shortages, secure supply, and recover at-risk builds.
- Lead shortage reviews and scenario planning, quantifying impacts, assigning actions, and escalating critical decisions.
- Translate program changes and engineering change orders into executable material plans and concise leadership updates.
- Develop and scale an AI roadmap that automates planning, improves data quality and predictability, strengthens controls, and measures business impact.
What We Need to See:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, industrial engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ overall years of progressive experience in material planning, supply planning, procurement, or supply chain operations, including 6 years of leadership of planning teams.
- Demonstrated success supporting complex NPI or engineering-build environments with frequent changes in schedule, quantity, BOM, and priorities.
- Strong command of CTB management, MRP, inventory control, shortage management, BOM structures, and engineering change processes.
- Experience working with commodity managers, contract manufacturers, and global supply partners to resolve material constraints.
- Experience leading AI, analytics, automation, or digital transformation initiatives from business problem definition through adoption at scale.
- Proficiency with SAP or comparable ERP and MRP platforms, Excel, and planning or business-intelligence tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage tradeoffs and work across global time zones.
Ways to Stand Out From the Crowd:
- Experience scaling a material planning organization for semiconductor, hardware, electronics, or other complex products.
- A record of improving CTB performance, planner productivity, or NPI execution through process redesign and data-driven operating mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience deploying AI-enabled planning solutions and enough knowledge of data, prompts, model evaluation, and responsible AI practices to guide technical partners.
