Part-Time Operations Manager – Steeple Square (Dubuque, IA)

Status: Hourly, Part-Time Reports To: Board of Directors

About Us: Steeple Square is a mission-driven nonprofit supporting job readiness, affordable childcare, community events, arts, tourism, and historic preservation. Our historic campus also serves as a unique event venue that helps sustain our programs.

Role Overview: We are seeking a self-motivated, collaborative Operations Manager to oversee daily financial, facility, and partnership operations. This role ensures our campus runs smoothly, our partners feel supported, and our mission-driven work thrives.

Key Responsibilities

Finance: Budgeting, forecasting, expense tracking, grant compliance, internal controls.
HR: Payroll/PTO approval, benefits paperwork, security access management.
Partnerships: Maintain vendor/community partner relationships; coordinate agreements.
Facilities: Oversee maintenance, repairs, safety, accessibility, and vendor contracts.
Operations: Improve internal processes, ensure regulatory/insurance compliance, support strategic planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years’ operations management experience, preferably nonprofit.
Strong financial management and partnership-building skills.
Experience managing facilities or physical spaces.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
