Chief Operating Officer - Community Mental Health Center

Job Summary Vera French Community Mental Health Center is seeking a mission-driven Chief Operating Officer to lead clinical programs and day-to-day operations. Reporting to the CEO, the COO will turn strategic priorities into effective operations, strengthen quality and access, and support coordinated, trauma-informed care across programs and locations. This is a full-time, exempt, C-suite executive position. Key Responsibilities - Lead operations, clinical oversight, quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. - Partner with executive leadership on strategy, performance measures, budgets, and sustainable solutions. - Use operational, clinical, workforce, and financial data to improve services and outcomes. - Develop leaders and promote engagement and accountability across multidisciplinary teams. - Guide program growth, grants, partnerships, and coordinated service delivery. - Participate in clinical on-call responsibilities and travel as needed. Qualifications - Seven or more years of administrative leadership experience; senior healthcare or behavioral health leadership preferred. - Experience leading nonprofit, clinical, or community-focused programs and multidisciplinary teams. - Strong operational, financial, analytical, communication, planning, and change-leadership skills. - Behavioral health-related master's degree desired; applicable professional licensure preferred. - Valid driver's license and ability to meet screening and insurance requirements.
