Job Description

United Parcel Services General Services Co. seeks Lead Software Development Engineer in Mahwah, NJ:

Job Duties: Apply the principles of software engineering to design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate computer software that provide business capabilities, solutions, and/or product suites and provides systems life cycle management (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.) to ensure delivery of technical solutions is on time and within budget. Research and support the integration of emerging technologies, provide knowledge and support for applications’ development, integration, and maintenance and develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications. Analyze requirements, test, and integrate application components and ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented. Define application complexity drivers, estimate development efforts, create milestones and/or timelines, and track progress towards completion. Identify and recommend improvements to the software development lifecycle. Solves complex problems related to own job discipline by taking a new perspective on existing solutions. Builds consensus. Regularly acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Works independently, receives minimal guidance. Must be able to play Agile Scrum Master responsibilities, managing Agile Boards and guiding the Lean Agile PODs. Develop the roadmap and guidelines for tailoring agile practices for a complex and dynamic software development project. Execute project management tasks, prioritizing multiple project plans and managing resources. Detailed project planning and control including managing project deliverables in line with the project plans . Must be able Effectively manage Risk/Issue management, timely escalation. Minimum Requirements: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle APPC Gateway programming, Oracle XML; (2) Linux Shell Scripts; (3) Microsoft .NET; (4) Artificial Intelligence; (5) Machine Learning; (6), Python; (7) Azure Dev Ops; (8) Agile Scrum Master; (9) CI/CD Pipelines; (10) SQL Server; (11) Performance Tuning; (12) Managing Work Service Orders (WSOs) using Coupa Contingent Workforce – Vendor Management System (VMS); (13) SDLC. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Part-time telecommuting is an option. Hybrid work from UPS offices in Mahwah, NJ.

Salary: $165,589 - $220,560 per annum and standard company benefits
