Northwestern College has a temporary position opening from January to April for an individual who will manage the college’s institutional social media strategy, create engaging digital content, and support digital marketing initiatives that strengthen brand awareness and student recruitment efforts. The position is 20 hours/week. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and publishing content across Northwestern’s institutional social media platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn. Monitoring engagement and ad campaigns, and maintaining a consistent brand voice.

  • Assisting with planning, filming, editing and publishing video content, including short-form videos, student-focused TikToks, video ads and other institutional storytelling initiatives.

  • Supporting the development of Northwestern’s Stand Out Story video series, including coordinating video sessions, assisting with video editing and identifying student subjects.

  • Managing student social media ambassadors, including content planning, assignments and student-generated content.

  • Assisting with implementing and monitoring of digital advertising campaigns in collaboration with Northwestern’s digital marketing agency.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree (or be near completion), preferably in marketing, communications, PR or a related field. This individual must have experience creating, managing and publishing social media content, with an understanding of current trends, best practices and audience engagement; experience filming and editing video content, particularly short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube; and strong writing, storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to create content that aligns with Northwestern’s brand. The successful candidate will also possess familiarity with digital marketing strategies, campaigns and performance metrics as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Northwestern College seeks candidates with an authentic Christian faith who will embrace and live out our mission & values, including our Reformed, evangelical and ecumenical identity as expressed in our Christian Identity Statement, Mission Statement, Vision for Learning and Vision for Diversity.
