Clinical Assistant Professor (Applied Sport Psychology and Counseling) Department: CED Educational & Developmental Science Part/Full Time: Full Time Advertised Salary Range: Salary commensurate with qualifications. Advertised Job Summary The Department of Educational and Developmental Science at the University of South Carolina seeks applications for a 9-month professional track position in Applied Sport Psychology and Counseling at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor anticipated to begin August 2027. Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to 1) teach courses in the degree programs in Educational and Developmental Science, with a primary contribution to courses in the B.S. Applied Sport Psychology and Counseling curriculum (the equivalent of 12 credit hours per semester) 2) support supervision needs in the department, and 3) participate in relevant service activities. Required Education and Experience We welcome candidates with 1) an earned doctorate in kinesiology, sport psychology, coaching, counseling, physical education, or related field by the start date of employment, 2) experience teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: applied sport psychology, counseling, kinesiology, and/or coaching, and 3) the demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with diverse colleagues and students. Preferred Qualifications We are particularly interested in candidates with evidence of 1) teaching experience in Applied Sport Psychology at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, 2) the CMPC credential, 3) ability to support student research, 4) experience in program assessment and accreditation, and 5) experience building inclusive learning environments that promote access and opportunity.
