Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support a manufacturing company in Newberg, Oregon through a Long-term Contract assignment. This role is suited for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can independently investigate issues, resolve complex reporting gaps, and bring structure to year-end accounting activities. The ideal candidate is confident working across multiple entities, comfortable navigating systems, and able to drive critical reconciliations, consolidations, and revenue-related accounting work with minimal direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate accounting discrepancies across entities and determine root causes, then implement practical solutions with limited supervision.

  • Evaluate repair and maintenance spending to ensure transactions are classified appropriately between expense and capital treatment.

  • Reconcile accounts receivable activity to the financial statements for subsidiary operations and resolve any mismatches.

  • Lead year-end revenue recognition reviews and support accurate recording in accordance with applicable accounting guidance.

  • Assess accounts payable cutoff activity by reviewing post-year-end payments and identifying liabilities that should be accrued.

  • Support the setup and accounting use of project-based financial tracking within the organization’s systems environment.

  • Prepare and review equity accounting and year-end consolidation entries, including foreign currency considerations for international subsidiaries.

  • Perform fixed asset and general ledger reconciliations, journal entry review, and other close-related cleanup projects.

  • Provide guidance to team members on procure-to-pay processes and promote effective use of accounting systems and reporting tools.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading month-end and year-end close activities in a complex accounting environment.

  • Strong background in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement review.

  • Demonstrated expertise in consolidations, including foreign exchange accounting for international entities.

  • Solid knowledge of revenue recognition and cutoff procedures related to year-end reporting.

  • Experience supporting audits and preparing accurate, well-documented accounting records.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems, with the ability to troubleshoot reporting issues.

  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of open-ended accounting problems, and communicate findings with confidence.

  • Prior experience in a regulated or product-based industry such as medical devices is preferred.
