Pay Rate: $26–$34 per hour

Department: Quality Control – Wet Chemistry Laboratory

Position Summary

Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chemist I – Wet Chemistry to join our growing team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and experience performing classical chemistry analyses, including titrations, thin-layer chromatography (TLC), optical rotation, Karl Fischer, and other wet chemistry techniques.

The Chemist I will prepare and analyze a variety of samples in accordance with USP/NF/EP and other applicable methods. Responsibilities include conducting routine and specialized analytical testing, performing complex spreadsheet calculations, preparing technical reports, and ensuring accurate and reliable results in a regulated laboratory environment.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong chemistry background, advanced computer skills, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

This individual demonstrates sound laboratory practices, can identify and investigate unusual analytical results, and takes pride in producing accurate, reliable, and defensible data.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, receptive to coaching and feedback, and committed to maintaining laboratory safety, quality, and efficiency.

Compensation

$33–$34 per hour , depending on qualifications and experience.

  • Conduct analytical testing of chemical samples in accordance with applicable specifications, approved methods, and client requirements.

  • Prepare and analyze a variety of samples using classical wet chemistry techniques and applicable compendial methods, including USP/NF/EP.

  • Perform analytical testing using methods such as titrations, Karl Fischer, optical rotation, TLC, and other wet chemistry procedures.

  • Assist with method development to meet client-specific requirements.

  • Perform method validations in accordance with applicable USP requirements and established laboratory procedures.

  • Review analytical results, identify deviations or unusual findings that could lead to inaccuracies, and investigate and implement appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established procedures.

  • Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation.

  • Recognize equipment malfunctions, investigate potential issues, and take appropriate action to resolve problems or arrange for servicing.

  • Perform complex spreadsheet calculations and prepare accurate technical reports using word processing and other computer applications.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible laboratory records in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable quality requirements.

  • Follow established laboratory procedures and applicable regulatory and company guidelines.

  • Participate in health and safety initiatives and support 5S practices to maintain an organized, clean, safe, and efficient laboratory environment.

  • Collaborate with team members and assist with additional laboratory responsibilities as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or an equivalent qualification required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.

  • Strong foundation in chemistry and analytical laboratory techniques.

  • Working knowledge of Karl Fischer analysis, optical rotation, titrations, and sample preparation.

  • Familiarity with thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and other classical wet chemistry methods preferred.

  • Pharmaceutical analytical laboratory experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with USP/NF/EP compendial methods and applicable laboratory procedures preferred.

  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Ability to perform complex calculations and prepare accurate technical reports.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.

  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet testing deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new analytical techniques and procedures.

Pay Details: $26.00 to $34.00 per hour
