Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an experienced Epic Project Manager to support a Guided Scheduling initiative within the IT PMO. This individual will partner closely with an existing Project Manager and cross-functional Epic, operational, and training teams to help coordinate the planning and execution of scheduling workflow enhancements.

The ideal candidate understands Epic ambulatory and scheduling workflows, can effectively manage risks and decisions across multiple workstreams, and knows when changes require additional training or change management support.

Key Responsibilities Support the Project Manager leading the Epic Guided Scheduling initiative, helping coordinate project activities, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables. Partner with Epic application, operational, and clinical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Support Guided Scheduling work across the five core areas: Orders Schedules Visit Types Decision Trees Self-Service Scheduling Track project risks, issues, and key decisions, ensuring appropriate owners are identified and items are followed through resolution. Apply established change management standards as workflows, processes, and technology are updated. Identify changes that may impact end users and determine when training teams should be engaged. Help coordinate planning, testing, implementation, and readiness activities across impacted teams. Facilitate project meetings, document decisions and next steps, and maintain alignment between technical and operational stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements

Epic experience with Cadence, Prelude, and Decision Trees. Understanding of Ambulatory ordering workflows, including preference lists and order sets. Knowledge of Epic Guided Scheduling principles, specifically Orders, Schedules, Visit Types, Decision Trees, and Self-Service Scheduling. Experience supporting healthcare IT or Epic-related projects. Strong project management skills, including risk, issue, dependency, and decision tracking. Experience working within established change management processes. Ability to recognize potential training impacts and engage training resources at appropriate points in the project. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical, clinical, and operational teams. Previous experience within a healthcare IT PMO. Experience supporting Epic scheduling, access, ambulatory, or patient-facing workflow initiatives. Experience working alongside Epic analysts, operational leaders, trainers, and clinical stakeholders. Experience supporting complex initiatives where multiple Epic applications and workflows intersect.
