SUPERVISORY ORDNANCE OPERATIONS

Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ORDNANCE OPERATIONS in the Navy Munitions Command Pacific East Asia Division of NMCPAC EAD UNIT GUAM.

Duties

• You will perform immediate and long-range planning of work assigned to the division to ensure the command is capable to respond effectively and timely in meeting requirements.
• You will identify and communicate requirements to the ordnance manager and Commanding Officer for manpower, equipment, and facility requirements to ensure actions are takes.
• You will be responsible for managing the traffic management program.
• You will determine the carrier and compare costs in order to select the most efficient, economical, or expeditious method of shipment for motor, air, or freight forwarded for the movement of explosives, other hazardous materials and inert items.
• You will initiate and implement changes in policy, processes and procedures to improve performance and quality of work.
• You will initiate follow-up through branch heads on progress of specific tasks to ensure that work commitments are met.
• You will perform managerial functions including budgeting, organizing, directing and coordinating technical work performed by the Comment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience in budgeting, organizing, directing and coordinating ammunition operations and logistics support. 2) Experience with Navy explosives safety standards (e.g., NAVSEA OP 5). 3) Appling Net Explosive Weight (NEW) limits, compatibility grouping, and ammunition sentencing criteria. 4) Experience with execution of Department of Transportation (DOT) and military logistics regulations governing the safe transit, blocking, bracing, and transportation of explosives on public highway. 5) Supervising Federal Wage System (FWS) and General Schedule (GS) employees (to includes planning, operations support (creating watch-bills), program management, providing supervision and technical direction, logistics and traffic management coordination, labor-management relations, and enforcing PPE and safety protocols and requirements) Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=1600-ndx Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
