INMATE PRODUCTION OFFICER MONTANA WOMENS PRISON DEER LODGE, MT TheMontana Department of Corrections (DOC)is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. TheRehabilitation and Programs Divisionensures the physical and mental well-being of inmates, delivers educational and vocational opportunities within prisons, and oversees community facilities dedicated to successfully reintegrating offenders into Montana communities. TheInmate Production Officerplays a vital role in empowering women at the Montana Women’s Prison through hands-on learning, responsibility, and teamwork. In this position, you will supervise participants in the Prison Paws Dog Training Program and the MCE Industries sewing and embroidery program while helping them build practical job skills, learn proper dog care and training, and participate in meaningful production work that supports their personal growth. In addition to garment construction and embroidery, you will guide participants in garment graphic design, basic computer operation, and the use of production-related software to enhance both creativity and workplace readiness. You will oversee daily operations by enforcing safety and sanitation standards, coordinating schedules, monitoring production goals, and maintaining accurate records. The role includes providing training, interpreting project specifications, managing personnel functions, and contributing to both short-term and long-term planning to ensure program success. QUALIFICATIONS The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Demonstrated computer experience and proficiency in garment graphics design * One year of experience directing the work of others.
