Full job description

It all started when engineer Fred Luddy wrote code that automated a tedious task for his coworker, Phyllis. She cried tears of joy. That moment inspired Fred to build a company that could do that for everyone—freeing people from busywork so they could focus on meaningful work. Today, ServiceNow is the AI control tower for business reinvention. Our ServiceNow AI platform brings together any AI, any data, and any workflow— helping 85% of the Fortune 500® work smarter, faster, and better. We're building an AI-native culture where technology and talent are unstoppable together. And we're just getting started.

Join us to put AI to work for people.

About the Role

As a strategic thought partner to executive level GTM Sales leaders, this HR Business Partner Director translates business goals into people strategy across talent, leadership development, organization design, and culture. You will own the people strategy, functional people plan, and you will bring data and foresight to people decisions related to growth, productivity, and margin. You will also be the voice of the business within HR, aligning HRBP, COE, and shared services partners to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions for a matrixed, AI-native sales organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Shape and lead the functional people strategy, linking talent, leadership, and culture priorities to the business plan.

  • Advise executive leaders on how people decisions affect risk to revenue, productivity, and margin, and influence the business choices that follow.

  • Lead strategic workforce planning, including headcount, spans and layers, and role design, so the organization grows efficiently within planned investment.

  • Run calibration, succession planning, and talent reviews for senior leaders, and build bench strength for critical roles.

  • Coach senior leaders on people leadership and team development, including how they adopt AI-enabled tools and ways of working.

  • Anticipate people risks, such as attrition in critical roles, change fatigue, and capability gaps, and build mitigation and contingency plans before they affect performance.

  • Use people data and trends to measure impact, guide decisions, and continuously improve programs.

  • Serve as the single point of contact for senior business leaders, coordinating HRBP, COE, and shared services to resolve their needs.

  • Navigate regional and matrixed complexity, ensuring people strategies are culturally sensitive and fit local market realities.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in senior HR business partnering or equivalent, including direct executive client support, management coaching, and team development.

  • Experience in a technology or SaaS business, ideally supporting a sales or go-to-market organization.

  • Hands-on experience applying AI in HR or business work, such as using AI tools, automating workflows, or interpreting AI-driven insights to improve decisions.

  • Proven ability to lead through change in a high-growth, ambiguous, fast-paced environment.

  • Range to operate strategically, operationally, and tactically, moving from long-term direction to day-to-day execution.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the credibility to communicate effectively both up and down the organization.

  • Confidence to challenge respectfully and influence senior business decisions.
