This position exists to support HIV, STI, & Hep Prevention Staff. The incumbent will develop, coordinate, and evaluate a statewide system of programs that provide human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) testing and treatment designed to identify and treat disease, with a special focus on reducing disparities. The incumbent will assist in planning and research activities necessary to establish a comprehensive and statewide plan for HIV screening that includes addressing social determinants of risk. The incumbent will provide or facilitate training, technical assistance, and other capacity building activities as requested by medical providers.

In accordance with HR/LR Policy #1422 Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) , this position is eligible for up to 50% telework for applicants who live in Minnesota or in a bordering state within 50 miles of the assigned work location. The telework policy may exempt employees who live more than 50 miles from their primary work location from the 50% in-office requirement, depending on job requirements, helping the State of Minnesota access top talent across the state.

Minimum Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Minnesota.

AND

Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare setting in positions that include one of the following:

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Charge Nurse (must include at least two years as a RN Charge Nurse)

  • Registered Nurse Supervisor

  • Director of Nursing

  • Healthcare Administrator

  • Board of Nursing

Experience must include the following:

  • Experience providing clinical consultation, training, or technical assistance to health care or public health professionals.

  • Experience working collaboratively with diverse communities and multidisciplinary partners.

  • Experience writing reports, one-pagers, and additional documents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of the medical and epidemiological aspects of all STIs and HIV including knowledge of infectious diseases, epidemiology, including disease surveillance.

  • Skills in evaluating clinical care delivered by STI/HIV clinical staff in diagnosing, treating, and counseling persons infected with or exposed to HIV.

  • Extensive experience in the delivery of direct patient care in a clinic setting.

  • Ability to teach health professionals regarding implementation of testing and treatment activities and to prepare summary reports.

  • Ability to determine appropriate patient care based on established protocols and to guide other professional staff in implementing the correct protocols.

Additional Requirements

  • This employment does not require a valid driver’s license, but it does demand travel across Greater Minnesota, which the candidate will be responsible for meeting.

  • This position requires successful completion of a background check and employment reference check.
