Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer, Specialist to support production and sustainment activities for complex RF and Digital electronic systems and their subcomponents on an Electronic Warfare Engineering team for a large Defense and Technology client. The position emphasizes system-level and subassembly-level support, including troubleshooting, test, failure analysis, configuration management, yield improvement, RCCA support, and coordination of engineering actions across the product lifecycle. The role requires communication and collaboration across all engineering disciplines, operations, manufacturing, test, quality, supply chain, and program management teams.
In this role, you will serve as a key production and sustainment engineering resource supporting complex Electronic Warfare (EW), RF, and digital hardware systems. On a daily basis, you will troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues affecting production, test, and fielded systems, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program teams. You will conduct root cause investigations for test failures, yield issues, and returned hardware, while analyzing production and test data to identify recurring defects and drive reliability improvements. The role involves supporting test stations and bench equipment, reviewing engineering changes and component substitutions, and ensuring configuration control of released hardware. You will participate in failure review boards, corrective action activities, verification testing, and sustainment efforts, while documenting findings, providing technical recommendations, and communicating status across cross-functional stakeholders. Success in this position requires a hands-on troubleshooting mindset, strong technical communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Skills and Requirements
Experience troubleshooting and root cause analysis of RF, digital, embedded, or Electronic Warfare hardware systems. Ability to analyze test failures, production issues, and hardware performance data to identify and resolve technical problems. Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and test teams in a production environment. Strong technical documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one. Provide your feedback on BizChat Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Experience supporting RF and digital electronic systems, including troubleshooting, test, and sustainment activities. Proficiency with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes. Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, block diagrams, and test specifications. Familiarity with systems engineering processes, configuration management, and change control. Experience in aerospace, defense, radar, communications, or other mission-critical electronics environments. Knowledge of manufacturing support, failure analysis, product sustainment, and hardware performance analysis. Experience leading small technical teams or supporting cross-functional engineering efforts.
