POSITION POSTING

NUMBER: 26-028

POSITION: Flexo Press Cutter/Deliver Operator

This notice is to communicate the available position noted below. Internal candidates will be considered before assessing/interviewing outside candidates. Apply online at careers.graphicpkg.com or through MYHR under Ink Tech req 16234.

Position Summary: To monitor cutting and assist lead operator.

Job Function: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Familiar with the press ink controls and inking process

  • Proficient in the operation and troubleshooting of a Cutter, Unwinder, Splicer, Festoon and all associated controls and equipment.

  • Ability to perform Changeovers in accordance with SOP's.

  • Assist with roller replacements and adjustments.

  • Know the correct web path necessary to web the cutter.

  • Ensures accuracy in recording of operator documentation involving all aspects of the assigned machine. This includes production reports, specification verification, quality requirements, machine logbooks and checklists.

  • Understands and participates in the 5S system and takes full ownership of working environment.

  • Complies with all company and department safety, quality, productivity and security procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, department manager, area lead or lead operator

  • Will assist in "breaking out" of operators for breaks and rest periods.

  • Understands and monitors the quality of product being produced and address any nonconformance issues.

  • Performs preventative maintenance of area equipment and maintains proper working condition.

  • Maintain company documentation accurate, complete and legible.

  • Completes Ei3 & standard work activities

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Must be willing to accept training and feedback as needed (for compliance with job requirements).

  • Ability to communicate effectively in order to establish a strong working relationship with all team members.

  • Must be able to work any shift and work overtime with short notice.

  • Must be able to visually identify quality issues.

  • Must be able to think "outside the box" and collect and utilize data in decision making.

  • Frequent bending and stooping

  • Frequent lifting and carrying cores and lap waste up to 50 lbs.

  • Must wear safety shoes, safety glasses and ear protections

Required Experience:

  • Preferred to be signed off on both steps of Ink Tech. Step 1 Ink Tech can apply and, if awarded the position, get signed off on Step 1 Cutter tasks within 6 months. Failure to get signed off will result in reposting of the position.

  • Flexographic experience

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities:

  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.

  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.

  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.

  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).

  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
