Sr Energy Analyst

Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Energy Optimization Subject Matter Expert to support a large-scale portfolio of technology and network facilities. This individual will bring deep expertise in both energy management and HVAC/cooling optimization, with a strong understanding of how technology infrastructure consumes power, generates heat, and impacts facility cooling requirements. The ideal candidate has already implemented energy optimization strategies across a large, complex portfolio. This is not a role for someone learning these concepts for the first time. We are looking for an industry expert who can evaluate existing environments, introduce proven and innovative approaches, identify opportunities for significant energy savings, and help drive those concepts through implementation. Direct telecommunications experience is not required. Experience within data centers, mission-critical facilities, technology infrastructure, or similarly power-intensive environments is highly transferable. Key Responsibilities Evaluate energy consumption and optimization opportunities across a large portfolio of technology/network facilities Analyze the relationship between IT/network equipment, rack heat loads, power consumption, HVAC systems, and cooling demand Identify opportunities to reduce overall power consumption and operating costs Evaluate existing HVAC and building/environmental control strategies Introduce innovative cooling concepts and technologies that may not traditionally be used within telecom environments Assess heat generation and cooling requirements associated with servers, racks, and other technology infrastructure Develop recommendations for improving overall facility energy efficiency Bring proven concepts and best practices from large-scale data center, technology, industrial, or mission-critical environments Support the implementation of recommended energy and cooling initiatives, not simply provide strategy Partner with engineering, facilities, network, and energy stakeholders to move concepts from assessment through execution Help evaluate and trial new energy-saving technologies and approaches Support field/site evaluations when needed Look holistically across the portfolio to identify opportunities that can be standardized and scaled

Skills and Requirements

Required Experience Significant professional experience in energy optimization, energy engineering, HVAC optimization, or mission-critical facility energy management Proven experience implementing energy-efficiency initiatives at scale across a large portfolio Strong working knowledge of both HVAC systems and energy management Experience evaluating cooling efficiency within high-density technology environments Understanding of how servers, network equipment, and racks: Consume power Generate and dissipate heat Impact HVAC loads Influence overall facility energy consumption Experience identifying, recommending, and implementing energy optimization solutions Ability to evaluate new technologies and translate proven concepts into practical, scalable solutions Demonstrated ability to work independently as a senior SME and advise cross-functional teams Highly Preferred Background Candidates coming from environments such as: Large-scale data centers Telecom/network facilities Cloud or hyperscale infrastructure Mission-critical facilities Large corporate technology/facilities portfolios Ideal Candidate This person is an established energy and cooling expert who has already solved these problems at scale. They understand the technical relationship between the equipment inside a technology facility and the mechanical infrastructure supporting it. They can walk into an environment, understand where energy is being consumed, identify where efficiency is being lost, bring forward approaches that have worked elsewhere, and help the organization implement those improvements across an entire portfolio. Most important: this needs to be someone who brings proven ideas to the team, rather than someone who needs to learn the concepts once they arrive.
