Schwab Technology Services (STS) enables the future of how clients manage their money through innovative, secure, and reliable technology solutions. Within Retail Web Technology, you will help build and enhance Schwab’s industry-leading digital experiences used by millions of retail investors. As a Software Developer II, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and delivery of modern web applications that improve client outcomes and drive measurable business value.

This role offers the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges, build scalable and secure applications, and collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and business partners across the organization. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality software. You will leverage modern development practices, Agile methodologies, and cloud-native technologies while supporting continuous improvement, mentoring peers, and contributing to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and learning.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 2+ years of full-stack web application development experience with an emphasis on front-end development

  • Experience developing web applications using .NET and C# technologies

  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

  • Experience developing or consuming RESTful APIs

  • Experience with Angular, TypeScript, or similar modern client-side frameworks

  • Experience building responsive web applications and Single Page Applications (SPA)

  • Knowledge of software design principles and application development best practices

  • Experience executing testing practices, including unit testing and TDD/BDD methodologies

  • Understanding of Agile software development principles and participation in Scrum-based delivery teams

  • Experience implementing security controls and secure software development practices

  • Ability to support application maintenance, incident response, and production stability initiatives

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams, time zones, and functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies

  • Experience supporting data pipelines, data stores, analytics, or machine learning initiatives

  • Experience managing requirements through roadmaps, epics, backlogs, and Agile planning activities

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate moderately complex technical problems using data-driven insights

  • Experience influencing peers and collaborating across teams to improve processes and delivery outcomes

  • Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and modern software engineering practices

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work with minimal revisions while adhering to established standards

  • Experience identifying innovative approaches to improve efficiency, scalability, or client experience

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
