Description
Under the direction of the Regional Operations Manager, the Plant Manager oversees and manages all production, distribution, warehouse, and maintenance activities to ensure the accurate and timely processing, receiving, shipping, and distribution of steel, parts, and customer orders. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility, including scheduling, monitoring operational performance, maintaining warehouse standards and maintenance schedules, and ensuring adherence to all safety and quality procedures. The Plant Manager drives productivity and continuous improvement through effective leadership, strategic planning, and employee development while fostering a positive work environment and high employee morale.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

Oversee all production, warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, logistics, and maintenance operations to ensure safe, efficient, accurate, and timely fulfillment of customer orders.

Lead, coach, train, and develop supervisors and employees; establish production priorities and operational goals; and manage staffing, workflow, resources, and schedules to achieve productivity, quality, and customer service objectives while minimizing overtime.

Monitor daily operations, including inventory control, quality assurance, shipping, receiving, floor productivity, space utilization, equipment usage, and customer service to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Develop and improve operational processes and systems related to product handling, storage, inventory management, shipping methods, and workflow efficiency.

Manage transportation and logistics activities, including carrier relationships, shipping methods, and delivery performance to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution.

Collaborate with Maintenance to maximize equipment uptime through preventive maintenance programs, resource planning, and equipment management.

Partner with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Investigate and resolve operational, production, shipping, receiving, inventory, and quality issues to minimize disruptions and improve performance.

Oversee the accuracy of production, shipping, receiving, inventory, and other operational documentation and reports.

Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, housekeeping, PPE, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a safe work environment and promoting positive employee morale.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Minimum of five (5) years of warehouse, manufacturing, production, or operations management experience required.

Proven leadership experience as a Plant Manager, Production Manager, Production Supervisor, or in a similar operations leadership role.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement practices, and root cause analysis methodologies.

Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, production processes, inventory management, shipping, receiving, warehousing, and logistics operations.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, and technical drawings preferred.

Strong leadership, organizational, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and employee development skills.

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
